Community Training & Education

Supporting Our Community’s Mental Wellness through specialized programs

One out of every five of us has a diagnosable – and treatable – mental health issue at some point in their life. Perhaps you, a loved one, friend or colleague are struggling right now.

We offer a variety of workshops and presentations geared to your needs and interests. Private trainings are also available for your school, business, or organization.

Whether you need to take advantage of one of our community education sessions or need support for your organization, we are here for you.

Columbia Suicide Severity Scale (C-SSRS) Training

The Columbia Suicide Severity Scale is a few simple questions that empowers communities, individuals, and families to identify someone who may be at risk of suicide and prevent tragedies. It is a simple threat assessment tool which illustrates a level of risk clearly and lets you know if you should contact someone for immediate, emergency support.

Because no mental health training is required to ask the questions provided in the C-SSRS, training is available to everyone including families, friends, neighbors, first responders, governments, healthcare, military, schools, correctional facilities, and researchers.

Contact us to learn more and determine if you want to bring C-SSRS training to your group!

Critical Incident Debriefing (CID)

Following a critical or traumatic community event, individuals often struggle to regain a sense of normalcy and safety. Professional help is sometimes necessary to help people process. We offer Critical Incident Debriefing services at the time of need for various organizations in our greater community: businesses, schools, youth groups, law enforcement, first responders, etc. Our goal is to help your organization’s own community process and move towards resilience and recovery after a high level of stress and/or trauma.

Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that helps you understand and respond to someone who is experiencing a mental health or a substance use challenge. You will learn risk factors and warning signs; gain a better understanding of depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and addiction disorders; and explore a 5-step action plan for helping a friend or loved one, as well as learning where to turn for help. It is founded in the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and then use their strengths to stay well.

We offer both Mental Health First Aid for Adults and Mental Health First Aid for Youth

We offer Mental Health First Aid training throughout the year and are able to provide private training for your business or organization.
